HARRISON – Harrison High School history teacher Michael Landy applied and just received a traveling exhibit from the Gilder-Lerhmen Institute called “Alexander Hamilton: The man who made modern America,” a traveling panel exhibit that examines Hamilton’s central role during the Revolutionary War and Founding period (1774-1804) in creating the economic, constitutional, social, journalistic, political, and foreign policy templates for modern America.
A series of 7-foot tall panels form an 85-foot wall that comes with various primary source documents, books, two films, lesson plans, and posters.
The exhibit shows Hamilton as a statesman and visionary whose life inspired discussion and controversy and shaped America 200 years after his death.
Landy is using the exhibit as a resource and teaching tool and it will be on display in the school library until June 9.
See this week's issue of The Observer for a story about Landy's honors class trip to Philadelphia.
