Display at Nutley library

Maritime and landscape paintings by award-winning Nutley artist Anton Ierubino are on exhibit at the Nutley Free Public Library through August. Mr. Ierubino is an esteemed member of the local artists' community and is instrumental in connecting artists with audiences through active participation in many art
associations.
In 1992 he consented to be one of the library's first exhibitors in their expanded gallery art exhibition program that provides a showcase for local talent and so it is with great pleasure the library spotlights his artwork once again.
A retired engineer, Mr. Ierubino's knowledge of buildings and bridges is evident in the symmetry of his renderings of tall ships and skyscrapers, notably his "Historic Ship at Mystic" and "Central Park Landscape." Yet he is equally adept at capturing a bucolic "Day in the Country" or the breaking waves
on Maine's shoreline at "Acadia." He painted "Falling Water, PA" from sketches made on-site at the Frank Lloyd Wright Building, and his "Boat Basin at Keyport" was painted from personal photographs taken while dining at the Cottage Inn Restaurant.
Mr. Ierubino started painting at the Nutley Adult School with Lou Panagini. He also studied with Ed Havas, Pat Branigan, and Carlton Plummer. He is a member (juried) of the Essex Watercolor Club and the Rutherford Art Association, and past president of the Bloomfield Art League. Mr. Ierubino has won awards at the Bloomfield Art Shows, the Rutherford Art Shows, and the Clifton Art Association Shows, and was one of the "Artists of the Year" at the Bloomfield Art League in 1993. This is his fourth art exhibition at the Nutley Public Library.
The library is located at 93 Booth Drive and is handicapped accessible. See the Web site at http://nutley.bccls.org or call 973-667-0405.
