TRENTON – Commissioner Kris Kolluri said today that the New Jersey Department of Transportation will repair the Route 3 eastbound bridge decks over the Hackensack River and resurface the approaches to the Route 3 eastbound bridge over the Passaic River in Bergen, Hudson and Passaic counties.
This $4 million project will ensure the safety of the Route 3 bridges.
Construction will take place overnight from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. in order to minimize traffic impacts.
From July 12 through July 14, NJDOT will resurface the eastbound approach lanes to the Route 3 Bridge over the Passaic River. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times.
Starting August 4, 2008, the eastbound lanes of Route 3 over the Hackensack River will be "rehabilitated." Two lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times.
The eastbound lanes of the Route 3 Hackensack River Bridge are scheduled to be completed by September 1. The westbound lanes are currently being resurfaced and are scheduled for completion on August 1.
