BELLEVILLE – There will be a benefit for the fallen hero, Belleville Officer Kenneth Santucci, at the Stone Horse Taverne and Grille in Belleville on Sunday October 19 at 2 to 10 p.m.
Santucci, 33, was fatally injured after his cruiser crashed across the Nutley-Bellville border, hitting a utility pole and ejecting him and his partner Officer Melissa Corrado on Saturday, Sept. 6.
Santucci was taken to Clara Maass Medical Center and pronounced dead later that night.
The officer joined the Belleville police force in January, and served with the Newark police department previously.
The proceeds from the benefit will go to his wife and children.
