KEARNY – Kearny High School senior and E.R.A.S.E. (End Racism and Sexism Everywhere) executive board member Saira Afzai was recently honored by the Kearny Optimist club for her outstanding leadership and remarkable character. Ms. Afzai was recognized by the Optimists at a December award dinner given in honor of all 2008 recipients.
The Optimist Club annually awards high school seniors who have demonstrated the ability to achieve a high level of academic performance while maintaining an active involvement in the school and local community. As an honors student and four-year ERASE member, Ms. Afzai is certainly deserving of this prestigious award.
The ERASE chapter would like to thank the Optimist Club for its efforts to reward our town’s outstanding youth.
And, of course, ERASE congratulates Ms. Afzai and thanks her for her continued efforts to End Racism and Sexism Everywhere!
