Crew student shows environmental initiative
KEARNY – On April 10, the Kearny crew team under the direction of Coach David Paszkiewicz and The Passaic Valley Sewerage Commissioner, cleaned up the grounds around the Kearny Crew House, the shorelines and the Norman Doyle Pavilion on Passaic Avenue.
Fernanda Lois, a sophomore at Kearny High School, organized the entire cleanup. Christopher J. Brooks, Multimedia Program Coordinator for the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commissioners was impressed the way Lois had the endeavor organized the students to row in on their kayaks.
“After all was said and done they filled up a 30-yard container,” Brooks said. “What a job.”
