KEARNY - The Town of Kearny Recreation Department will be offering FREE MOVIES IN THE PARK this summer. On Wednesday evenings for two dates, July 8, 2009 and August 12, 2009, rain dates are set for the following Thursday evenings if needed. Our first movie The GOONIES is set for Wednesday July 8, 2009. They call themselves “The Goonies”, the caves, the old lighthouse, the lost map, the treacherous traps, and the hidden treasure. And, on Wednesday August 12, 2009 our second and final movie in the park, “RUDY” a true Notre Dame football story about a young man who refuses to limit his dreams or bow to reality as he pursues his lifelong goal – to wear the uniform.
Both movies in the park will be held at the Manor Park, corner of West Bennett and Hamilton Avenues. Showtime will be viewed at dusk, at approximately 8 p.m.
