In a continuing effort to help small and mid-sized companies grow their business during tough economic times, the Meadowlands Small Business Council – an extension of the Meadowlands Regional Chamber of Commerce – hosted another Business Owners’ Roundtable last week to discuss online advertising on July 28. The seminar was part of a series of roundtable discussions aimed to bring business owners together to discuss topics critical to growth and competitiveness.
With close to 20 business owners in attendance, guest speaker Joe D'Ambrozio of Pest Management, LLC spoke about the various successes and obstacles he has faced in advertising his small business online. The group had an open discussion on the pros and cons of bundled advertising packages, direct mailing and broadcast fax programs. Business owners also gave testimonials about their experiences with Google pay-per-click, building successful email campaigns and optimizing their web pages.
“Whenever you put business owners of varied industries in a room together you will find many similar areas of concern that can be shared within the group...it's an invaluable learning opportunity that also allows great peer-to-peer networking," said Ed Sees, Chairman of the Small Business Council.
“There is a very different and positive kind of dynamic which takes place when attendees learn from each other rather than from someone whose main focus is a sales pitch. Everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy participating in the process,” Abby Duncan, a seminar participant and small business owner said.
The next seminar in the Business Owners’ Roundtable series will take place on Thursday, September 25 at 8:30 a.m. at the Chamber Offices in Rutherford.
The topic will be “How to Leverage Your Chamber Membership.” Please note these seminars are for Members of the Meadowlands Regional Chamber only.
