Dava Sobel to Speak at NJMC

Don't miss the opportunity to hear this Bestselling Author speak at
the Meadowlands Commission!


WHAT:
Science writer Dava Sobel, the bestselling author of “Galileo’s Daughter,” will give a talk and sign books at the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission’s (NJMC) Meadowlands Environment Center.
The NJMC’s William D. McDowell Observatory and its state-of-the-art telescope will be open to the press. The Observatory’s director will be available to demonstrate telescope features and answer questions. The telescope includes a 20-inch mirror and is one of the largest telescopes in the area.
The event is part of the NJMC’s 40th Anniversary Celebration and the International Year of Astronomy 2009, a year-long celebration marking 400 years since Galileo pointed his telescope toward the stars.
WHEN:
Saturday, March 14
Dava Sobel talk at 1 p.m.
Observatory will be open from 12:30 to 1 p.m. and for one hour after the talk (approximately 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
