Fresh produce and more at this year’s Kearny Farmers Market

KEARNY – The Kearny Farmers Market will open Thursday, June 25. Now in its fourth season, the weekly market sponsored by the Kearny UEZ features recently harvested fruits and vegetables from Alstede Farms and Union Hill Farms, as well as fresh cheese and artisan bread from local venders. New this year will be local venders providing fresh baked goods, and pickles and olives. As in prior years, the senior voucher program provides low-income seniors the opportunity to enjoy the fresh produce and goods of the market. Applications can be found at the Kearny Health Department. The Kearny Farmers Market is located on Kearny Avenue across from Mandee’s, between Bergen Avenue and Afton Street, and will run every Thursday, noon to 6 p.m., through October.
